What I do: I’m the product manager for Pressbooks, a Canadian company making open source book publishing software. I live in Eugene, Oregon with my wife, Laurel Bastian, and our elementary-school aged son.
What I’ve done: Before joining Pressbooks in 2018, I spent most of my adulthood teaching in and supporting others who teach in universities. I’ve also worked as a land surveyor.
What I love: Being a father & partner & friend. Reading poetry (especially the ‘Objectivists’), listening to good music, visiting libraries, playing pickup soccer, & eating vegetarian food. I believe in generosity, empiricism, active listening, and practicing compassion for all sentient beings.
