What I do: Since 2018, I’ve worked for Pressbooks, a small Canadian company that makes open source book publishing software. I live in Eugene, Oregon with my wife, Laurel Bastian, and our son.
What I’ve done: Before joining Pressbooks, I spent most of my adulthood teaching in and supporting others who teach in universities. I’ve also worked as a land surveyor.
What I love: Being a father & partner & friend. Reading poetry (especially the ‘Objectivists’), listening to good music, visiting libraries, playing pickup soccer, eating vegetarian food. Practicing generosity, empiricism, active listening, compassion for all sentient beings.
